چکیده
Abstract Sesamolin is one of the lignans derived from sesame oil. It has demonstrated significant antioxidant, anti-aging, and anti-mutagenic properties. also reportedly augments natural killer (NK) cell lysis activity. We previously reported that sesamolin exerts anticancer effects in vitro induces enhanced NK cytolytic activity against tumor cells. Herein, we aimed to determine mechanism by which prevents retards tumorigenesis BALB/c mouse models leukemia induced murine (BALB/c) myelomonocytic WEHI-3B Banded neutrophils, myeloblasts, monocytic leukemic cells were more abundant model than normal mice. decreased number almost 60% mice vivo; additionally, positive control drug, vinblastine, similarly hindered neoplastic proliferation. Spleen samples ~ 4.5-fold heavier those obtained mice, whereas spleen treated with had a similar weight Moreover, twofold increase cytotoxic These results indicated anti-leukemic vivo.

Antileukemic effect of zerumbone-loaded nanostructured lipid carrier in WEHI-3B cell-induced murine leukemia model
Cancer nanotherapy is progressing rapidly with the introduction of many innovative drug delivery systems to replace conventional therapy. Although the antitumor activity of zerumbone (ZER) has been reported, there has been no information available on the effect of ZER-loaded nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) (ZER-NLC) on murine leukemia cells. In this study, the in vitro and in vivo effects of...
متن کاملOn the paradoxically concentration-dependent metabolism of 6-mercaptopurine in WEHI-3b murine leukemia cells.
The intracellular metabolism of 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) was studied in a murine leukemia cell line, WEHI-3b. Cells were incubated 3 to 24 h with 10 nM to 50 microM 6-MP. Nucleotides were extracted with perchloric acid, and the 6-thiopurine nucleotides were isolated on mercurial cellulose. The endogenous ribonucleotides in the perchloric acid extracts as well as 6-thiopurine nucleotides were sep...
متن کاملDifferentiation of WEHI-3B D+ monomyelocytic leukemia cells by retinoic acid and aclacinomycin A.
WEHI-3B D+ monomyelocytic leukemia cells were induced to differentiate to mature granulocytes when treated with either 30 nM aclacinomycin A or 7 microM retinoic acid. Differentiation was assessed by the appearance of mature granulocytic phenotypes, as measured by the ability to reduce nitro blue tetrazolium, morphological changes, an increase in cell surface Fc receptors, as well as the loss o...
متن کاملRegulation of the differentiation of WEHI-3B D+ leukemia cells by granulocyte colony-stimulating factor receptor
To investigate the role of the G-CSF receptor (G-CSFR) in mediating the action of G-CSF, WEHI-3B D+ murine myelomonocytic leukemia cells were transfected with a plasmid containing the murine G-CSFR gene. Overexpression of G-CSFR in transfected clones was demonstrated by northern blotting, binding of [125I]rhG-CSF and cross-linking experiments. A high level of expression of the G-CSFR did not pr...
